In July 2024, the Michigan Growth Office launched a first-in-the-nation program called Make MI Home to retain folks who already call Michigan home and to welcome new residents to come and join us.
To date, we’ve invested over $1.4M to create 10 brand new, local programs each unique to their specific community that are currently running or coming soon in regions across the state to encourage talent to make Michigan their home. Local Make MI Home programs offer benefits such as housing or relocation assistance, free college tuition, access to coworking spaces and mentorship as well as passes to local and cultural amenities.
