What is the Michigan Growth Office?
Established in 2024, the Michigan Growth Office is tasked with implementing the state’s blueprint for growth, a comprehensive strategy put forth by the Growing Michigan Together Council to ensure current Michiganders have everything they need in order to build a great life here, while welcoming new residents to come and join us.
The office builds on the council’s recommendations by engaging Michiganders in the effort, launching pilots and programs to spark growth, and leading storytelling, research and policy initiatives.
Together, these efforts all help to grow Michigan’s population.

The three blueprint strategies are:
- Making Michigan the Innovation Hub of the Midwest.
- Building a lifelong learning system focused on future-ready skills and competencies.
- Creating thriving, resilient communities that are magnets for young talent.
To date, the Michigan Growth Office has engaged 3,000 Michiganders across 878 ZIP codes to get feedback on challenges they face in their communities, as well as what people love about the place they call home.
